What does Vinegar have to do with Laundry?
Using distilled white vinegar in laundry will whiten, brighten, soften and reduce odors in clothes without harsh chemicals. Vinegar is inexpensive and contains no tannins (plant dyes) that can cause stains on clothes. It is safe to use in standard and HE washers. Adding 1/2 cup of vinegar to your final rinse will result in brighter and cleaner clothes. The mild acetic acid acts as a whitener and brightener in clothes. For very dingy clothes, you can soak overnight with in hot water with 1 cup of vinegar and wash like you normally would in the morning. Soaking clothes overnight with vinegar also helps brighten clothes. Vinegar also gets rid of odors in clothes like smoke, mildew and sour smells. Wash clothes with two cups of vinegar and then rewash like you normally would. Does wonders for these types of odors.
